My cousin recently sent me a poem he had written titled "Makes No Difference". A thoroughly depressing poem, which ruminated on the futility of everyday life one sometimes feels. While this image is not directly based on any specific description in the poem, I was instantly compelled me to take out my sketchbook and draw the very vivid images that the poem conjured.

This is the first "serious" illustration that I've done in many years, as I mostly make animated cartoon-like characters and motion GFX for commercials. I found getting back to something a bit more illustrative to be refreshing, even if I can tell I have much work to do to.
